Follow the Leader
We are going to play “Follow the Leader” with a map of Africa.
Here is how our version of this game works:
Download the “Follow the Leader” instructions and then……. follow these instructions. It’s very simple. This activity will help us cement the “big picture” geography of Africa.

For this activity, you will need:
- Download grid map of Africa (R-1e), print on cardstock
- Download reference map of Africa (R-1f)
- colored pencils or markers.

There are 30 instructions available for this activity. You can adjust the difficulty level by choosing how many directions you will “follow” (10 or so for the youngest students v. all 30 for older students). Also, the directions generally increase in difficulty as you move through the instructions.
