The following are songs that would be appropriate to use in an end-of-the-year program.  It is a good mix of African music, a song teaching the names of the African countries, and songs with a missional message.  Prepare to have fun!

African Songs:

Here is a simple, but fun little Swahili song.

There’s No One Like Jesus

There’s no one, there’s no one like Jesus. (Repeat 2 more times.)

There’s no one, there’s no one like Him.

Hakuna Mungu kama wewe. (Repeat 2 more times.)

Hakuna na hatakuwepo.

Here is a slightly different version:

Geography Songs:

Countries of Africa

This song is from the Rhythm Rhyme Results website.  It is so much fun to learn and sing!  Sorted according to region (east, west, north, south, central and island), the song teaches the names of all of the counties in Africa using rhymes to aid in memorization.  A fun and easy way to gain familiarity with the names of the African countries.

Here is a video of our class rapping the countries:

1.  God of Justice, Tim Hughes

2.  Jesus, Hope of the World

From the IMB website: “There is no greater gift than God’s Son! Get a glimpse of His work through Southern Baptists on the mission field. Sherwood Baptist Church choir and LifeWay team up to bring you this inspiring song.”
