Why Passport you might ask?
What makes the Passport program unique?
It’s contemporary.
We jokingly say… this ain’t Grandma’s missions class! Nope! It’s fresh and modern! Passport to the Nations curriculum uses the “immersion” approach to unlock all the rich detail of every inhabited continent…. one continent at a time! We’ve tied-up music, local customs, language introduction, culture-rich art, hands-on geography activities, and intro to unreached peoples. We also include missionary stories – from both heroes of the faith, as well as modern-day missionaries! And we tie this all up with the strings of a God-centered worldview. And here’s the best part (spoiler alert!), we spend a few minutes each class praying for the nations. Yep. And all the while, kids are flexing their servant muscles by participating in age-appropriate mission projects. Kids learning to live life on mission. And we do that Every. Single. Year.
It’s comprehensive.
The 5 Year Roadmap:
The beauty of Passport lies in its breath and depth. It’s deep. And wide. Five years of content allows a child to “travel to” and experience most of the inhabited continents of the world! So once your group is on board, your curriculum search is over. Sit back, relax, and reap the rewards of the Passport Roadmap. Let’s trek the globe together, one continent at a time, with the easy-to-use, conversational content Passport to the Nations pros have come to know and love. Reduce road weariness by having kids travel to the same continent at the same time (regardless of “grade”). This approach creates a cohesive and focused experience for students, families, and leaders alike.
It’s adaptable.
We saved the best for last! Passport is flexible and adaptable”. How? Glad you asked!
Overall Content:
Think of it as buffet-style content. Pick and choose the “ingredients” that work for your particular situation. We’ve done all the nitty-gritty legwork and lesson planning to make this possible. Consistent categories (see chart below) of material make Passport familiar, goof proof and user-friendly. On the other hand, variety (that little spice of life) for students and teachers grows through exposure to the diversity of each rich region.
Lesson:
While the content is written at the elementary age level, we’ve made each lesson adaptable by including instructions for modifying the project to accommodate varying ages and abilities. The lesson can also be adapted based on the time and energy your group wants to devote to an activity. Wanna go all out and make a sample of Batik fabric? We’ve included instructions for that! Wanna teach the concept, but keeps things simple in class? We’ve included instructions for that too!
Setting:
We’ve made the content scalable for various settings by offering access that varies by time frame and number of participants. We offer multiple lengths of access to Passport (short term, mid term and long term <wink>). We also offer multiple levels of access so you can adapt Passport to your setting, be it a large church, a school or co-op setting, or a small family.
Build your own Passport journey by choosing material from 8 unique categories.
Choose your content based on the priorities, resources and time available for your group.
Personalize your experience: Choose what you use!
And it’s fun!
But don’t take our word for it… Hear from the kids themselves!
Mattie P. enjoys learning all the songs and Bible verses in different languages. We know, Mattie! We do too!
Zeke T. is not alone in these sentiments: “I like Passport because I get to be involved and active!”
And who can argue with Marina’s delight in sampling foods from different countries of the world?! And now she’s a budding cook in the kitchen herself! (Not that we’re taking credit….)
Millie P. shared this… “I think Passport is fun because you learn about different cultures, people, and their beliefs. Passport isn’t just about memorizing facts and statistics; instead, you really get to know other people groups in a memorable way.”
And from Levi W.’s deep soul: “Passport gave me such a good understanding of other countries and their need for the Gospel. I even used the ‘Friends with God’ booklet from the course to share with several schools on a mission trip to Uganda.”
It’s time tested travel! Ready for your own expedition?
