Riffi Berbers are a group of people that live in the Riff Mountains of Morocco. They are Muslim. Out of 2 million Riffi Berbers, less than 100 of them are Christian! That’s amazing to think about, isn’t it? Muslims need to hear about the God of the Bible and about Jesus, God’s son. Many Muslims are good people trying to follow the rules of Islam in order to gain passage into heaven (or “paradise”). But the Bible clearly teaches that the way to heaven is not through our work, but rather through our responding to God in faith.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
Good works cannot produce salvation, but most Muslims have not heard of a better way. Many have not heard about Jesus and his work on the cross. Instead, they think Jesus was a prophet, but not God’s son. Therefore, the Riffi Berber people need to hear about the Jesus of the Bible so they will be able to call on the name of the Lord for salvation.
For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:19
One tool available for the Riffi Berbers, and others like them who need to hear about Jesus, is The Jesus Film. The Jesus Film is the story of Jesus’ life and purpose and it has been translated into over 1,000 different languages. This is important because people need to hear about Christ in a language that is meaningful to them.
What is amazing is that there is a children’s version of the Jesus Film, as well. Watch this film, and while you are watching it, imagine living in another country and imagine this being the first time you have ever heard about Jesus!

And finally, Pray. Pray for the Berber people and the believers who are working with them to spread the gospel. Prayer is something we can all do, no matter how young or old we are. When we pray, we are doing battle against Satan who does not want people to hear the good news about Jesus. Satan wants them to stay in the darkness (2 Corinthians 4:4), so we pray for their eyes to be opened to the glorious truth of the gospel that will save them from eternal separation from Christ. God hears our prayers for the lost around the world and works on their behalf for His glory. We must also pray for people who are doing the work of Christ around the world,
“…that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.” Ephesians 6:19-20
