Every culture has its own unique set of holidays… celebrated in their own unique style. And it’s these cultural experiences that hint at what we value and help define who we are as a people and country.
Want to get in on the action and experience Christmas – Latin American style?! We’ve compiled a handful of holiday ideas that will help you put the cha-cha in your fa-la-la!
TURN UP the magic of the night by using the celebration as an opportunity to SERVE others!
How you might ask? Think about this:
Drop and Shop:
Serve the parents of the kids in your group by offering a Drop and Shop evening – parents can drop kids off and have a couple of “kid-free” hours to do a little Christmas shopping for said kids. Meanwhile kids are having the time of their lives participating in some Fiesta-style holiday cheer!
Double the impact by hosting an Ornaments 4 Orphans Christmas tree or setting up a tree and selling the Passport HOPE ornaments. The sale of every ornament supports a woman escaping domestic violence. Maybe set up a Christmas Fair and let kids shop for their friends and family? Host a Compassion Child Sponsorship Drive and give a child the gift of Hope this Christmas. Use your imagination… the possibilities are endless!
Ok, back to the Christmas festivities….
First up…Christmas decor!
Papel Picado
And it wouldn’t be a party without a festive Christmas treat:
Mexican Snowball Cookies
Served up with some complementary Mexican Hot Chocolate. Muy bueno!

Add a fun holiday story about the legend of the poinsettia…
Flor de Nochebuena
And finally, include the singing of a fun, little rendition of Jingle Bells in Spanish!
