This presentation board is perfect for sharing the Gospel story in group settings. It allows people to visualize what the gospel is and why it is important.
What you will need:
A thick, white foam board (approximately 1/2″ x 22″ x 24″)
White, black, red, green, yellow, and tan cardstock (we used 6″ x 6″ pieces of cardstock)
A sheet of brown foam
Laminating sheets
Velcro squares
A black and a white pen (we used chalk pens)
Instructions:
Draw lines on the foam board like the ones pictured below with the black pen.
If you are using the 6″ x 6″cardstock, simply cut the pieces in half. Otherwise, cut rectangles about 3″ x 6″. You will need 4 white rectangles, 4 black rectangles, 3 red rectangles, 2 green rectangles, 2 yellow rectangles, and two tan rectangles. Next, write the following words on the cards you just cut (one word per card). Use the white pen to write on the black cards and the black pen on all of the other cards.
On the white cards: GOD, Holy, Just, Gracious
On the black cards: MAN, Rebelled, Separated, Dead
On the red cards: Life, Death, Resurrection
On the green cards: Turn, Trust
On the yellow cards: Eternity, How will you respond?
On the tan cards: Draw a stick figure on each card. On one, draw a happy face and on the other, draw a sad face.
The next step is to laminate all of the cards. You can laminate the cards with a laminator or laminate by sticking the front of the cards onto sheets of the laminating paper and cutting around them.
Now for the velcro squares. Stick the loop side of the velcro squares onto the foam board in the places pictured below. It may help to place the cards where you would like them to go and then place the loop side of the velcro squares behind them at the top center of the cards. In addition, draw green arrows as the picture shows.
Then attach the hook side of the velcro squares to the back of all of the cards. Stick them onto the top middle of the back of the cards.
The last thing to do to complete the set-up of the board is to cut out the cross from the sheet of brown foam. Make sure the it is no wider than the gap between the vertical lines drawn onto the foam board. Our cross had dimensions of approximately 8.5″ tall x 6.5″ wide. Stick a hook velcro square to the top of the back of the cross as well.
That wraps up the process to make the presentation board. Now, for the process of presenting the gospel using this board. Following is a “bare bones” presentation. The purpose is to see how the board works in conjunction with the main points of the presentation. For elaboration and embellishment of these points, see the individual lessons.
Begin with the white thread: God is the holy, just, and gracious creator of all things.
God is holy.
God is just.
God is gracious.
Next, the black thread: We are each created by God, but we are all corrupted by sin.
We have rebelled against God.
We are separated from God.
We are dead without God.
The red thread: Jesus alone is able to remove our sin and restore us to God.
He lived the life we could not live.
He died the death we deserve to die.
He conquered the enemy we cannot conquer.
The cross is the bridge. It’s the way God came to man and the way man’s relationship is restored to God.
So how do we cross the bridge? How do we cross from death to life?
Green thread. We can be restored to God only through faith in Jesus.
We turn from our sin and ourselves.
We trust in Jesus as Savior and Lord.
Trust means to put our faith in Him as Savior and Lord. We do this by praying and committing our lives to Christ. When we do this, we cross over the bridge from death to life.
Yellow thread: Our eternal destiny hinges on our response to Jesus.
Hell is a dreadful reality for those who turn from Jesus.
Heaven is a glorious reality for those who trust in Jesus.
Will you turn from Jesus or will you trust in Jesus?
Once again, see individual lessons for each “thread” – explanations and illustrations for each of these Gospel points.
