Graffiti is the word we use to describe pictures or words painted or drawn on walls or other surfaces in a public place (usually unauthorized!).  In this geography activity, we are going to do something similar.  We are going to draw pictures or words to represent various geographical locations.  But instead of drawing or painting them on a public surface!, we are going to draw some graffiti on a map of Africa.

Note:  The purpose of this activity is to reinforce the geography, not to draw perfect pictures.  Remind students of this idea during the activity if you find they are getting bogged down in the process of drawing the pictures.  A small, basic representation of the item being asked for is sufficient.

For this project you will need:

During this activity, draw slips of paper from the basket and then draw item as directed.  The challenge is to know the geographical location where the graffiti is to be drawn.  Refer to a map of Africa as needed.
